Character Stats
The characters in the Final Fantasy Zero game derive most of their rules from two places: their job abilities, and their statistics.
There are six "base stats" that represent your character's inherent ability. These generally range from -5 to +5, and are applied as modifiers to other statistics. These stats won't drastically change over the course of the game, and help to define how skilled you are at the various jobs and tasks your character attempts. A character with an Intelligence base stat of -5, for instance, won't be that great of a spellcaster, even if they dabble in jobs that rely on magic, while a character with an Intelligence base stat of +5 will be amazing in magic, and can even turn a mostly physical job into a magical powerhouse. Your tribe or archetype will assign your scores for you, generally, but you may modify them, or even assign your own, if the GM grants you permission.
The related statistics will change more drastically: these statistics change as you level up and as you switch jobs, depending on your training more than your inherent capability.
